Andrés Felipe Poveda Herrera

Andrés Felipe Poveda Herrera is a Colombian Composer and Cellist. He studied music (Violoncello) at the "Universidad de Los Andes" with the cellist Diego García. As a Composer, he studied with Catalina Peralta and Rodolfo Acosta, he had masterclasses with Fabian Panisello, Miguel Llanque and Carolina Noguera. In 2020 he won the second prize of the first CILASiM international composition competition with his work “Savannah” for wind quintet, the second prize of the second national composition competition for string quartet "FestiQ-artetos" with his work “String Quartet No.1” and the award of the OFB national composition competition for wind band with his work “Órbita Celestial”. In 2021 he won the second prize of the symphonic composition organized by the Foundation “musica con passione” with his work “Singularidad” for symphonic orchestra. In 2022 he won the award of the OFB national composition competition of Contemporary music with his work “Corraleja.”
